Weeks 3 - 5

The third team meeting was dedicated to completing the rough storyboard. To do the initial storyboarding, we first divided the script into defined Acts, and then organized rough shot sequences that were drawn on sticky notes placed in sequential order. The order was decided through consensus after debating the shot's merits with the team. By the end of the meeting, the rough storyboard was photographed by Act in order to provide further organization for the cleanup process.

After the cleanup of the frames was finished, another meeting was held to decide the specific lengths and camera movements for each shot which directly reflected in the timing in the pitched storyboard video. The video sequences, which had previously been organized by Act, were complied with descriptions and narration being added.

Asset creating is continuing to progress. The team had designated different assets, including character models, props, and environmental elements, to be made by different team members. A hard deadline as been set by the team for their completion.

Weeks 1 - 2

To begin working on the project, the team independently watched other animation projects both from previous IAT 343 semesters and outside sources. We each formed a few story ideas to present to the others in the team before our first meeting.

During the first meeting we presented, debated, and agreed on a story concept for our animated short. Also within the meeting, we each wrote our own rough outline of the plot which would later be refined and combined into the final script. At the end of the meeting, we divided roles to achieve the tasks of website creation/design, concept artist, script writer, and concept description writer to have these tasks done by the first deadline.

Before the second meeting, we each individually collected images that we felt represented the way we wanted the animation to look and feel like. During the meeting we looked at all the images and grouped them based on aspects we agreed on, like colour palettes, character attributes, environmental features, etc. to come up with an art direction for the animation.

Following the meeting, the tasks, that were designated by role, were completed individually and placed on this website.
